Coastal Texas Home & Windstorm Insurance
The right mix of homeowners, windstorm, and flood coverage for life on the Gulf Coast
Protecting a home on the Texas coast usually takes more than one policy. Texas Windstorm Insurance helps coastal homeowners put together homeowners, windstorm, and flood coverage that works as one plan, without gaps and without paying for coverage twice.
In most of Texas, one homeowners policy covers the most common risks. Along the coast, it is different. Many homeowners policies in the 14 coastal counties and parts of Harris County exclude wind and hail, and no homeowners policy covers flooding. Most coastal homeowners end up with three pieces of coverage:
Because we represent multiple insurance companies, we can compare options for each piece and, when it makes sense, combine home and wind coverage with one carrier. We also make sure your deductibles, limits, and effective dates line up, so a storm does not reveal a gap you did not know you had.
From Galveston and Bolivar to Corpus Christi, Port Aransas, and South Padre Island, we help homeowners in coastal communities across Texas. If your home was built, added on to, or re-roofed since 1988, have your WPI-8 certificate ready so we can quote TWIA if needed.

Often, yes. Many coastal homeowners policies exclude wind and hail, so you may need a separate windstorm policy, and flood insurance is always separate. Some private carriers include wind and hail in the homeowners policy, which means you would need two policies instead of three. We will show you which setup is available for your home.
Sometimes. Some private carriers offer homeowners policies that include wind and hail coverage on the coast, which keeps everything on one policy. When that is not available, we pair a homeowners policy with a separate windstorm policy from a private carrier or TWIA.
Homeowners insurance covers risks like fire, theft, and liability. Windstorm insurance covers damage from wind and hail, such as a hurricane tearing off your roof. On the Texas coast, wind and hail are often excluded from homeowners policies and covered separately.
No. Neither covers flooding or storm surge. You need a separate flood policy, and a National Flood Insurance Program policy usually has a 30-day waiting period unless it is purchased in connection with a mortgage closing.
